This large vacant parcel of land in Invermay required rezoning to accommodate the proposal, which was for a medical centre on the street frontage and ten apartments at the rear. The existing double storey art deco building on the corner of the lot had been vacant for some years & the owners wanted to convert this into a pharmacy on the lower level with exclusive apartments upstairs. The council were very supportive of the development from the outset as they understood there was a need for more doctors & facilities in this part of Invermay.
The medical centre includes 5 consulting rooms & treatment room on the lower floor & 3 dental rooms upstairs. The design was to be attractive, timeless & low maintenance, whilst making the most of all available space.
As the apartments were double storey, adequate car parking and privacy issues proved challenging.
